Required Qualifications:

Ability to plan and implement fundraising projects for the affiliate.
Capable of effectively responding to crisis situations
Fully computer literate, including Quick Books, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Accepting and supportive of Habitat's Christian foundations and ministry focus

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services, social work, business administration, ministry, education or related field
Fundraising experience
Basic understanding of house construction
Basic understanding of mortgage laws, RESPA, Dodd-Frank, etc.

Summary: Under the direction of the Board of Directors, oversees all affiliate operations. In accordance with the objectives, policies and directives set forth by the affiliate Board of Directors provides overall executive leadership for the Affiliate and ReStore. Responsibilities include supervision and mentoring of paid staff, maintaining and enhancing the infra-structure of the affiliate, serving as the primary communication link among directors, officers, committees and volunteers, networking with community services, developing and implementing fundraising plans, serving as the public face and corporate spokesperson and providing the necessary follow-up to ensure that the whole organization runs smoothly and effectively while carrying out the goals and objectives of our mission.
The Executive Director is responsible for administering the affiliate's mission-based ministry in accordance with Habitat's stated purpose under the direction of: the Board President, Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The Executive Director is a non-voting ex-officio member of the Board.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Affiliate Administration and Management (approximately 60% of time)
Oversees implementation of affiliate policies and procedures for new home construction, A Brush With Kindness, Global Village, Women Build, Faith Builds, ReStore, etc.
Has chief administrative responsibility for public accountability of the organization and assures that legal obligations of the organization are met.

Responsible for implementation of policies adopted by the Board
Serves as the communication link between the Board, the Executive Committee and ad-hoc committees.
Provides overall control and direction for the personnel function of the organization.
Supervises and assesses performance of all long and short term staff.
Screens, hires, evaluates, promotes and terminates staff
Affiliate, ReStore, VISTA, AmeriCorps, interns, etc.
Maintains a working knowledge of site progress to ensure that houses are built within time and budgetary parameters.
Provides oversight to Habitat ReStore by coordinating with the ReStore Director to see that the policies, procedures, goals and mission of the ReStore are effectively carried out.
Coordinate day to day finances of the affiliate.
Authorizes expenditures within the guidelines set by the Board of Directors.
Assists Treasurer and Budget/Finance Committee in developing yearly budget.
Serves as liaison to arrange for and assist with annual audit.
Consults with Treasurer and Accountant on payment of bills and other financial reports as needed for Board Meetings, grants and funding sources.
Facilitates and supports the Board of Directors and Committees.
Prepares agendas for Executive Committee and Board meetings with the Board Chairperson.
Prepares monthly report for Board of Directors Meeting.
Provides leadership to all operating committees.
Attends meetings of all operating committees.
Assists the Board in the formulation of policies for the effective and economical operation of the organization. Implements and ensures compliance with policies adopted by the Board and the By Laws of DCHfH
Assists the Executive Committee in preparing and recommending to the Board of Directors long- and short-range plans for the development of organization programs and services.
Interprets trends in issues affecting the organization by maintaining involvement in the professional field as a whole. Assists the President in the orientation and on-going training of Board members.
Assists the Board with long-term planning through the creation and implementation of a Strategic Plan.
Assists Board/nominating committee in recruiting and training new Board members.
Work with partner families to address issues and concerns as they arise by referral to appropriate affiliate committee(s) or outside agencies.
Serves as liaison with Habitat for Humanity International and the Wisconsin State Support Organization.
Provides administrative support for Building Committee and construction site supervisors, including A Brush with Kindness project supervisors.
Maintains a positive working relationship with the construction site supervisors.
Custodian of affiliate documents.
Accountable for control of organization resources once budget is approved.
Works closely with Site Selection Committee to acquire and develop land.
Resource Development (Approximately 25%)
Oversees the creation of annual fundraising plan.
Assists Fund Development Committee in identifying funding and grant sources.
Provides leadership for solicitation of major gifts, including identifying and meeting with major corporate and individual donors.
Cultivates in-kind materials and land donations whenever possible and reports all real and potential donations to appropriate committee chairperson.
Serves as a consultant to help plan and implement fund raising programs such as special events, direct mail and alternative financing programs.
Public Relations (Approximately 15%)
Serves as primary spokesperson for the organization.
Develops regular media releases.
Expands affiliate's visibility and partnerships in the community. Reaches out to all local religious, business, civic and volunteer organizations, foundations or other charitable giving organizations as well as other government and non-government housing and human services organizations.
Assists in preparation of quarterly newsletter.
Develops relationship with local media outlets.
Coordinates, writes and records radio interviews and press releases.
Attends community functions, establishes partnerships and alliances with like-minded organizations, cultivates influential individuals in the community, etc. Advocates on behalf of those struggling to obtain decent affordable housing. Provides support to Church Liaison Committee.
Probation: This position is subject to a 90 day probation period. The employee's status will become permanent upon successful completion of the 90 day period.
